Binary Tydes is the third album by the band AEGYRE the current realization of Nimrod Scott. The sonic palette ranges from electric synth Bluegrass to deep Ambient with several points in between. Embracing tempo has been a slow process in his musical development but Binary Tydes employs more rhythmic motion than ever before.

Rejoicing with the coming of the New Year this music burst forth in a fountain of creativity in a celebration of the ending of the Pandemic. The scope of the sonic exploration ranges from a track in the E-Grass genre (Cosmic Grass), to a slow Ambient piece without tempo (Santamasa Planet) and several points in between! The track Who Has Got The Time? opens with a strong (accidental I promise!) similarity to some sounds from a show featuring a famous time traveler. Nachtwatch (Night Watch) sequentially pursues the swing of the stars on a cloudless night. The title track Binary Tydes is a sweeping story of the forces that control not merely our physical planet but also our human psyche. Synthesizers and sequencers celebrate the gravitational/psychological/spiritual tidal forces that both swing our Solar System and also impact our wondering heart, mind and soul.

Rod’s inspiration continues to come from "those who've gone here before", the many musicians of extraordinary talent. Many thanks to James Carr, Andrew Douglass, and O.Z. Hall and other local members of BAEMG (Birmingham Alabama Electronic Musical Group) who provide a constant example of skills, creativity and generosity that serve as guiding lights that he strives to follow.
