Fantastic and very dreamy space ambient. The inspirational sources, that Nimrod Scott mentions, are very apparant in this album, especially. Very transporting. I enjoy it immensely.
Favorite track: Marginal Traverse.
Electronic music, specifically ambient and space music, has been part of Rod's listening library since the early nineteen eighties. The passions evoked by listening to artistically crafted electronic soundscapes have inspired him to create with his own evolving voice.
A poet for fifty years, Rod came to employ musical expression late in life. Support from his musician friends has been one key to his belief that musical expression can exist upon a similar plane to that of the written word.
Meditative awareness of the ebb and flow of life itself, which incorporates human endeavor, provides inspiration for the inceptive musical expressions found throughout Galactic Tyde - the first album by AEGYRE (pronounced “ee Gire”), the new solo project from Nimrod Scott.

My gratitude knows no bounds for the many people contributed to the energies behind this album. In January 2017 David Coward drove all the way from Mississippi with an 88 key electric piano on the back seat to give me lessons on music theory. Andy Douglas first put the bug in my ear about taking a body of work and pulling it together into a coherent album and outlined a process to accomplish that goal. Daniel Scott encouraged me all along and advocated for me to include one particular track. Others in the local Birmingham AL synth community who played a part in encouraging my work (as well as furthering my education in electronic music) include James Carr, O.Z. Hall and Ken Whetstone. Kudos to Chuck Van Zyl who gave specific advice and also gave musical encouragement. Thanks to Robert Rich who elevated my understanding of the technical requirements for quality audio and for his artistic encouragement. Many other folks provided positive vibes including my best friend, to whom I’m married - Debbie Scott.
The musicians/bands who have impressed and influenced me are almost too numerous to list but I’ll try to list a few in random order: Chuck Van Zyl, Brian Eno, Jonn Serrie, Deuter, Tangerine Dream, Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Ian Staer, Matthias Grassow, Martin Sturtzer, Klaus Schultze, Laurie Spiegel, Terry Riley, Gert Emmens & Ruud Heij, Dick Hyman, Michael Stearns, Michael Hunter, Andy Boyce, Guitar Pilots, Ian Boddy, Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson, Miles Davis, The Allman Brothers Band, Chicago, The Beatles.
A career in IT kept me busy for decades but another dimension of my life included writing poetry and refining my
photographic realizations. These activities fed my soul. Later in life creating electronic music entered the door and changed my life. AEGYRE is the musical realization by Nimrod Scott....more
As a life long cartophile (lover of maps) the visual aesthetic is absolutely incredible. The music that accompanies this art is creative, evolving, and evocative. AEGYRE
Mike Hunter and Chuck Van Zyl are amazing creators of space music. This live performance is a brilliant exposition of their collaborative powers. AEGYRE

A very nice ambient album. My loved ones (alive and passed away) were very present while listening at it, in the now.
Thanks a lot, Jack Hertz. And thank you so much, Boo!
